Grau Magazine is a small-format Berlin based art and culture publication, devoted to navigating ‘the outer and inner complexities of our world.’

This bookish fourth edition brings together an impressive cast of interviewees, including performance artist Marina Abramović, curator Jenny Schlenzka, fashion designer Martin Margiela, producer Jeff Mills, critic Hans Ulrich Obrist, and photographer Juergen Teller. Captured through a series of portraits shot by editor Leif Arne Asmus—with the exceptions of Margiela and Schlenzka—alongside snapshots of their practice, printed inside in black and white. According to editor Julius Sebastian Führ, the genesis of this issue echoes Claus Peymann’s review of a play directed by Peter Handke, through which Peymann observed that ‘questions are the movement towards the other, in a society that otherwise promotes isolation.’

Choose from a selection of five covers, featuring Abramović, Mills, and Margiela's painting 'Drape III'.
